The conferences will be held on at the Hilton Hotel in Burlington, Vermont on four separate occasions: May 22 & 23, 2008, October 16 &17, 2008, May 21 & 22, 2009 and October 15 &16, 2009. “We are very excited and honored to be chosen by the Department of Labor to host the workers’ compensation adjusters conference,” says Glenn Morgan, a partner at the firm. “For this seminar we have secured knowledgeable and exciting speakers to present in both large and smaller sessions. We have also incorporated flex conference scheduling, a concept which we originated, to allow more options for attendees. We have scheduled the event so that a person may attend the afternoon of day one and the morning of day two, or all day on the second day. Both options have the same lectures. This program gives attendees more flexibility in their scheduling, as well as provide options that will result in better learning.” This conference will cover a myriad of topics including the following general sessions on the morning of Day 2: A Primer on The AMA Guides, 6th Edition; A Roundtable Discussion with the Department of Labor; NCCI Overview of Workers’ Compensation; and A Review and Update of Cases and Statutes. The afternoon breakout sessions will include lectures on: Vocational Rehabilitation in Vermont; Basics of Workers’ Compensation; Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution; Pre-Trial and Hearing Procedure and Practice; Medicare Set-A-Side Trusts; Validity Measurement in Psychological Evaluations; and Strategies for Handling the Permanent Total Disability Claim. The conferences are co-chaired by Glenn S. Morgan and John W. Valente.
