Katharine Alvarez Rios

Katharine Alvarez Rios earned her Juris Doctor from Vermont Law and Graduate School.  Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Alvarez Rios gained experience at the City Attorney’s Office in Rutland, Vermont, where she researched and drafted legal documents, reviewed contracts, and developed municipal policies and ordinances.  Mrs. Alvarez Rios works in areas as diverse as commercial transactions and complex litigation.  During law school, she served as a teaching assistant in Civil Procedure, Property, and Debtor-Creditor Bankruptcy, and worked as a research assistant to Professor Brown. She received academic excellence awards in Constitutional Law, Debtor-Creditor Law & Bankruptcy, and Immigration Law.  Her background also includes roles in financial services at JP Morgan Chase and Discover Financial Services, where she focused on contract analysis and transactional work.
